The Steamboat Springs School Board meets at 4:30 p.m. today in the George P. Sauer Human Services Center at 325 Seventh St. The agenda includes potential action on insurance providers for Steamboat Springs School District staff, through the district's collaborative bargaining team, and an executive session to review a draft contract for the potential new superintendent, Dr. Shalee Cunningham of Napa, Calif.

1:22 a.m. Two cows were reported on the road near mile marker 137 on U.S. Highway 40. The animals were returned to their pasture.

Skiers West, McConnell top Surefoot field

Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club's Ann West took first place in the first of a pair of Surefoot Colorado Ski Cup Championship super-G races Tuesday in Winter Park. West took the top spot with a time of 1:11.63. Shane McLean, another Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club skier, placed second in 1:12.12. Lauren Samuels, from Minnesota's Team Gilboa, took third place in 1:12.44.
