Editorial Board seeking new members

The Steamboat Pilot & Today is accepting letters of interest from readers who would like to serve as community representatives on the newspaper's Editorial Board from May 1 through Aug. 31.

The Editorial Board includes two community representatives and four members of the newspaper staff. Newspaper staff members on the board are Publisher Bryna Larsen, Editor Brent Boyer, City Editor Mike Lawrence and reporter Tom Ross. The Editorial Board formulates the Our View opinions expressed on the ViewPoints page of the newspaper. The Editorial Board meets at 10 a.m. Tuesdays.

Readers interested in serving on the Editorial Board should send a letter of 500 words or less expressing their interest to Boyer at bboyer@steamboatpilot.com or P.O. Box 774827, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477. Letters also may be dropped off at the Pilot & Today office at 1901 Curve Plaza. Call Boyer at 871-4221 with questions.

South Routt school officials to hold retreat

Members of the South Routt School Board and South Routt School District administrators will conduct a retreat from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Sunlight Ski Resort near Glenwood Springs. The retreat's agenda focuses on strategic efforts, goals for South Routt schools, a three- to five-year plan for the school district, improving communication, budget issues, achievement, staff development, community involvement and more.
