A season pass to the Steamboat Ski Area will cost $979 for the 2008-09 winter, an increase of $30 from this season's price. Pass holders also will have to pay $75 if they want to add unlimited skiing to Winter Park and Copper.

2:37 a.m. A fire was reported at a coal pile in the 13100 block of West U.S. Highway 40 outside Hayden. No structures were damaged and no one was injured. Officials from the West Routt Fire Protection District contained the fire by 5 a.m.
