Steamboat Springs Nine basketball players from Hayden and Soroco high schools were named to Class 2A Western Slope All-Conference basketball teams Tuesday.
Rams guard Sarajane Rossi and Tigers forward Holli Salazar led the way, earning first-team nods. Both players, who are juniors, led their respective teams in scoring.
On the boys side, Hayden senior point guard Jordan Williams was named to the first team. Williams led the Tigers in virtually every statistical category and was one of the most accurate 3-point shooters in Class 2A. Williams - who currently is playing baseball at Moffat County - started his year off by winning the 3-point shooting contest at the Meeker Tournament.
Soroco's Kelsey Samuelson and Hayden's Kylee Sweetser were named as honorable mentions, while Rams sophomores Alex Estes and Cody Miles also earned honorable mention honors. Hayden senior Brad Parrott and sophomore Murphy Smartt also were tabbed as honorable mention performers.
