Rotary Club names student of the month

Nicole Rende, a Steamboat Springs High School Senior, was honored this week by the Steamboat Springs Rotary Club as the student of the month.

"Nicole is one of the most outstanding students in our school," High School Principal Mike Knezevich said. "Nicole is involved in our student leadership class, Student Council and our Link Crew program. She is also a varsity cheerleader and participates in this program year-round. In addition to her many school activities, she is a youth group leader for her church."

Rende maintains a 3.8 grade point average and is the recipient of an academic letter for her consistent class performance. Rende said she plans to pursue a college degree in elementary education or physical therapy.

"Choosing a single individual as Student of the Month from the various schools in Routt County continues to be a challenge," Rotary President Sandy Evans Hall said.

"We have so many bright, active and extraordinary young men and women here who are deserving of this honor," she said. "Clearly, Nicole stands out as one of the best and brightest."
