In April 2003, I became a stem cell donor. My sister, Elaine, was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrom (MDS), a life-threatening pre-leukemia disorder. A bone marrow transplant from my stem cell donation replaced her own diseased bone marrow. Because of this miraculous process, Elaine is able to live a full life and see her daughter graduate from college. In fact, she will be in New York City this weekend to hear her favorite tenor at the Met.
Please join the National Marrow Donor Program. You can also help with fees so others can join by making a contribution payable to the Yampa Valley Community Foundation.
Mail to: Bone Marrow Testing Coalition c/o Debra and David Freseman, 40211 Lindsey Drive, Steamboat Springs, CO 80487. By doing so, you too can save a life - and be part of a miracle.
