Yampa Town Board looking for trustee

A recent resignation has opened a spot on the Yampa Town Board.

Yampa residents interested in filling the vacancy must send a letter of interest to Town Clerk Janet Ray by Thursday.

Eligible residents must be at least 18, a registered elector and have resided in the town for at least one year.

If appointed, the trustee would serve on the board until the April 2008 election.

The vacancy was created when Michael Ross resigned from the board, after serving since September 2003.

A town newsletter said Ross resigned due to "work and personal commitments."

"We thank Michael for his community service and commitment to Yampa," the letter states.

Mayor Bruce Pitts and trustees Paul Zywicki, Arlene Porteus, Karen Tussey, Jeff Drust and Denis Campanali comprise the board.

The board likely will appoint a trustee at its Oct. 3 meeting. The Yampa Town Board meets at 7 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month.

For more information, call the Town Hall at 638-4511.
