Kathy Cain: 'Team' raised funds

Steamboat Springs — I am writing in reference to the recent Monday Medical article (New camera boosts cancer diagnosis) that ran in the Steamboat Today on Sept. 17. While I greatly appreciate the recognition that was given to me for donating the amount needed to purchase the camera, I would like to make it clear it couldn't have happened without the generous support of friends and family who sponsored me in the 2005 Chicago Marathon to raise the funds in memory of Pat "Cowboy" Nugent. As a "team" we were able to accomplish much more than any of us as individuals could have. Not only did we raise the funds, but it brought the topic of cancer awareness to the forefront of many of our conversations.
