7:11 a.m. A truck ran into a utility pole near Third Street and Lincoln Avenue, knocking out cable service to thousands of Steamboat Springs residents for nearly eight hours. No injuries were reported. Comcast crews later repaired the utility pole.

7:16 a.m. A driver reportedly lost control of his or her vehicle on U.S. Highway 40 near mile marker 126 and hit a fence. No injuries were reported.

7:26 a.m. A deer was struck by a car on U.S. 40 near mile marker 125.

8:06 a.m. A 23-year-old Steamboat Springs man was arrested in the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue on suspicion of driving under revocation and disregarding traffic.

8:13 a.m. A man complained about loud music in the 1300 block of Dream Island Plaza.

10:11 a.m. A hunter reportedly was trespassing on Emerald Mountain.

11:10 a.m. A man found something in the 700 block of Walton Pond Circle.

11:40 a.m. A little girl reportedly fell off a slide in the 1000 block of Pamela Lane.

12:02 p.m. A dead animal was removed from Mount Werner Road.

12:45 p.m. An alleged fraud involving the purchase of a car was reported in the 500 block of Rollingstone Drive. Police said the situation was handled as a civil matter.

2:34 p.m. Someone was given a warning for making harassing phone calls.

2:51 p.m. A theft report was taken somewhere in the Steamboat area.

3:18 p.m. Someone reportedly thought a group of teenagers were fighting on Moffat Avenue in Oak Creek. The teens were playing football, not fighting, police said.

3:40 p.m. A two-vehicle, noninjury accident was reported on Lincoln Avenue near Pine Grove Road.

3:49 p.m. Someone intentionally set fire to a shoe-sized patch of grass in the 300 block of Third Street. No damage or injuries were reported. Police said the situation was handled as a civil matter.

5:21 p.m. Police conducted a records check for a business owner in the 1300 block of Dream Island Plaza.

8:23 p.m. A drunken person was given a ride home from the 1900 block of Walton Creek Road.

Didn't the city complete a project last summer to bury the utility lines in the alley so we wouldn't have phone, cable and electric outages due to weather and accidents.

If I recall correctly they only buried the lines between Lincoln and Oak.
