12:56 a.m. A bear was spotted in the 40000 block of Routt County Road 36. The bear was gone when officers arrived.
3:06 a.m. Residents in the 400 block of Eaglepointe Court were warned for having a loud party.
3:31 a.m. Two loose dogs were barking on Alpenglow Way. One dog was taken to the shelter. Officers could not catch the other dog.
8:35 a.m. A man in the 2600 block of Cross Timbers Trail complained about his neighbor's trash sitting out since Saturday in a non-wildlife-proof container.
9:35 a.m. A man in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue reportedly was yelling obscenities in a parking lot. The man was given a warning and asked to leave.
11:15 a.m. A 22-year-old Montana man was arrested at the Routt County Jail for being a fugitive of justice.
1:18 p.m. A Hitachi backhoe caught fire in the 33000 block of C.R. 53 in Hayden. West Routt Fire Protection District Chief Bryan Rickman said coal company employees were using a cutting torch to remove two of the backhoe's $40,000 motors when grease and oil caught fire. The backhoe was completely destroyed. No injuries were reported.
1:32 p.m. A 19-year-old diabetic man was taken to the hospital from the 1300 block of Bob Adams Drive.
3:06 p.m. A man driving a Chevrolet Corvette was cited for almost hitting a construction flagger in Ski Time Square.
3:40 p.m. A rollover was reported on Colorado Highway 131 near mile marker 57. Colorado State Patrol Trooper Melissa Fowler said a driver was forced to veer off Colo. 131 to avoid a car that was passing someone else on the highway. After veering off the road, the vehicle came back on the road and rolled one-quarter time. The driver was not injured, she said. The vehicle that allegedly caused the accident did not stop. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call 879-0059.
4:12 p.m. A driver ran school bus stoplights near AprÃs Ski and Alpenglow ways. The driver was gone when officers arrived.
4:23 p.m. Two aggressive dogs reportedly were hanging around the 800 block of Howelsen Parkway.
4:58 p.m. A woman lost a $100 backpack in the 600 bock of Marketplace Plaza.
6:03 p.m. A 24-year-old Steamboat Springs man was arrested in the 1300 block of Dream Island Plaza on suspicion of possessing a financial device, driving under revocation, not having insurance and displaying fictitious plates.
7:02 p.m. Officers closed an open lid and secured the bear-proof bar on a Dumpster near Seventh and Aspen streets.
7:57 p.m. Construction crews were warned about working after 7 p.m. in the 2900 block of West Acres Drive.
9:04 p.m. Loud music and partying was reported in the 800 block of Weiss Drive. The residents were given a warning to be quiet.
10:43 p.m. Hunters reported seeing and smelling smoke north of Dumont Lake on Rabbit Ears Pass. The report has been made several times during the past few days, and the U.S. Forest Service and Routt County Emergency Management officials are looking for the source of the smoke.
11:17 p.m. Officers mediated an argument between a teenager who wanted to move out of his home and his family, which wouldn't let him.

Duh . . . isn't there a shepherd working up there? That might be your mysterious "source."
