Friday, Sept. 7

1:36 a.m. A disturbance was reported in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue. Everything was fine.

2:01 a.m. A man and woman reportedly were arguing. Officers mediated the situation.

2:48 a.m. A bear was spotted in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue.

6:43 a.m. An abandoned vehicle was broken down in the 200 block of Anglers Drive.

6:56 a.m. A man reportedly was being tailgated by another driver in the 1400 block of 13th Street. The man couldn't get the other car's license plate because "it was too close," police said.

8:21 a.m. A delivery truck was blocking another car in the alley between Seventh and Eighth streets. Officers mediated the situation.

8:33 a.m. A man was sleeping in a lodge lobby in the 1800 block of Ski Time Square. Officers asked the man to move.

9:25 a.m. A loose dog was reported in the 3600 block of Lincoln Avenue.

11:21 a.m. A loose dog was taken to the shelter from the 2300 block of Mount Werner Circle.

11:32 a.m. A lost property report was taken somewhere in the Steamboat area.

12:28 p.m. A light fixture reportedly was smoking in the 100 block of Ninth Street. The light was turned off, and it stopped smoking.

12:46 p.m. Two children sitting in a car reportedly set off the car's alarm while they were waiting for their father.

12:55 p.m. A bear broke into a home in the 2900 block of Ski Trail Lane. Police said the bear was sitting on a kitchen counter eating a bag of brown sugar. No injuries were reported, and the bear was scared out of the house. Several dishes and other items on the kitchen counter were broken, police said.

1:22 p.m. Deputies responded to an alleged trespass in the 27000 block of Grouse Court. The person who was allegedly trespassing had permission to be there.

1:39 p.m. A woman reported receiving harassing phone calls.

2 p.m. Someone reportedly was selling stereo speakers from a car near 11th and Yampa streets. The car was gone when officers arrived.

3:03 p.m. Someone reportedly was trespassing in the 18000 block of Routt County Road 29 in Oak Creek.

5:07 p.m. A vehicle was damaged when the tow truck that was pulling it slammed on its brakes near 13th Street and Lincoln Avenue.

5:08 p.m. A burglary was reported in the 30000 block of Sagebrush Trail in Oak Creek.

5:19 p.m. A woman reportedly saw a car almost hit a man and a child in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive. The driver was gone when officers arrived, and the man never called to report the incident.

7:02 p.m. A teenager reportedly spit on a woman's car in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive.

7:46 p.m. An woman reportedly stole something from a business in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive. The situation was handled civilly.

8:43 p.m. An ambulance was requested in Yampa.

8:47 p.m. A 36-year-old Steamboat Springs man was arrested on 13th Street on suspicion of driving under revocation.

9:11 p.m. Officers mediated an argument between two men in the 700 block of Conifer Circle.

9:11 p.m. A woman reported a reckless driver near Hilltop Parkway and U.S. Highway 40. Officers were unable to locate the car.

9:23 p.m. Officers checked on a drunken man on River Road. The man was fine.

9:33 p.m. A 19-year-old Greeley man was arrested on Colorado Highway 131 near mile marker 64 on suspicion of driving under revocation and driving with a defective taillight.

11:29 p.m. A teen was cited for being a minor in consumption in the first block of Maple Street.

11:31 p.m. A woman complained about loud noise in the 700 block of Yampa Street. Officers gave someone a warning to be quiet.
