Friday, Aug. 31

12:16 a.m. A 28-year-old Steamboat Springs man was arrested on suspicion of false reporting.

12:51 a.m. Officers warned a large group of people in the 400 block of Sixth Street to be quiet.

2:11 a.m. A group of teens reportedly was shooting off bottle rockets on the Yampa River Core Trail. The group was gone when officers arrived.

8:54 a.m. A man in the 2500 block of Downhill Drive complained about an abandoned camper trailer.

9:47 a.m. Vandalism was reported in the 200 block of Howelsen Parkway.

10:07 a.m. Someone reportedly found a urine sample in the 600 block of Marketplace Plaza.

11:09 a.m. Someone left a hotel in the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue without paying his or her bill.

Noon. A driver was cited for improper mountain driving after he lost control of the car he was driving on Routt County Road 80. No injuries were reported.

12:50 p.m. Someone left a hotel in the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue without paying his or her bill.

1:31 p.m. A found wallet was turned in to the police department.

2:26 p.m. A driver was cited for driving under suspension on C.R. 129.

2:27 p.m. A man reportedly was walking around the 1800 block of Central Park Drive with a gun. The man was carrying an airsoft pistol, which is a fake gun.

2:44 p.m. A man complained about a reckless driver near Lincoln Avenue and 11th Street. The driver was gone when officers arrived.

4:07 p.m. A two-vehicle, noninjury accident was reported near Ninth Street and Lincoln Avenue. One driver was cited for failing to yield when making a left turn and not having insurance.

6:49 p.m. A man reportedly heard gunshots in the 400 block of Bluebell Court. Officers were unable to find the source of the noise.

7:52 p.m. A 26-year-old Hahn's Peak man died in a rollover accident in the 60000 block of C.R. 129 south of Hahn's Peak. Police said the man likely was speeding and alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor. No other injuries or cars were involved.

9:02 p.m. A 26-year-old Craig man was arrested on U.S. Highway 40 near mile marker 120 on suspicion of violating a restraining order and having an open container of alcohol in his car.

10:26 p.m. A fight was reported in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive. Everyone was gone when officers arrived.

11:42 p.m. A disturbance was reported on Walton Pond Circle.
