This year, the Town of Oak Creek is celebrating its centennial along with its annual Labor Day celebration. All events are free unless otherwise noted. All events take place in Oak Creek.
Today
- 7 to 10 a.m. Pancake breakfast, Soroco High School

- 9 to 10 a.m. Soap Box Derby, Main Street
- 10 a.m. Vendor setup, Main Street

Steamboat Springs
Weekend-long events
- The Downtown Steamboat Springs sidewalk sale is from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today through Monday. Register inside stores to win cash prizes at any of the participating downtown merchants. Drawing to be held Monday at noon. Save hundreds of dollars on end-of-season merchandise, sporting goods, home decor and much more. For more information, contact Tracy Barnett at 846-1800.
- The third annual Wild West Air Fest is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Sunday at the Steamboat Springs Airport on Routt County Road 129.
The event will feature vintage and warbird airplanes, remote controlled aircraft, hang gliders, paragliders, airplane rides, displays and classic cars.
A Tribute to the Troops and color guard ceremony begins at noon Saturday at the airport. A special tribute to Gen. Robin Olds is at 12:30 p.m. Jack McEncroe will provide an introduction of a DVD presentation of Olds' air battle missions over North Vietnam. Ex-Naval aviator Ron Pollard will give a presentation at 2:30 p.m. Saturday of Naval operations over North Vietnam.
Air Fest buttons can be purchased at the airport for $5 for adults and $2 for children 6 to 12. Children 5 and younger will be admitted for free. A button provides admission throughout the weekend. For more information, call the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association at 879-0880.
- The fourth annual Steamboat Stock Dog Challenge is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Monday at the Stanko Ranch on Twentymile Road. Free admission, demonstrations and a chuckwagon lunch. Call Marianne Sasak at 879-5214 or visit www.steamboatdogtrial.com for more information.
- Art on the Mountain is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Sunday in Gondola Square at the base of Steamboat Ski Area. Local and regional artisans will show and sell a variety of work. Admission is free. For more information, call 879-6111.
Today
- Prudential Steamboat Realty hosts a Labor Day Home Tour of Steamboat from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The tour will kick off with a complimentary brunch at the Prudential office in Wildhorse Marketplace at 10 a.m. The self-guided tour includes more than 15 Steamboat residences throughout the mountain area and downtown. Driving maps will be available at the office. The price range of homes on the tour is between $800,000 and $8 million. Call 879-8100 for information.
- The Old Town Farmers Market is from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Routt County Courthouse lawn on Lincoln Avenue. Shop for fresh produce, artisan breads, natural beef and buffalo, artisan cheeses, homemade sauces and salsas, flavored pastas, wild mushrooms, locally made products, arts and crafts.
