Steamboat Springs Over the Hill Gang offers funds to local athletes
For the 12th consecutive year, Steamboat's Over the Hill Gang is offering financial assistance to local athletes for their education and/or skill improvement in their area of competence. Only athletes involved in winter sports are eligible.
Applicants should be attending or a graduate of a school in Routt County or a Routt County resident for a minimum of two years. Applicants also must be between 14 and 22 as of Nov. 15.
Applications will be available Oct. 15 at all Routt County high schools, Steamboat Springs Middle School, The Lowell Whiteman School, Christian Heritage School, CMC, the Winter Sports Club, and at www.ssoverthehillgang.org.

Applications available for Yampa Arts & Craft Fair
The 27th annual Yampa Arts & Craft Fair is accepting applications for crafters and artists. This large craft fair is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 17 at South Routt Elementary School in Yampa. Applications are due Oct. 25, but it is suggested they be in sooner to assure a spot. To receive an application, call Nita Naugle at 638-0452.
Mainstreet Steamboat Springs seeks volunteers
Mainstreet Steamboat Springs is recruiting interested volunteers to assist with its programs. Mainstreet is a comprehensive program created by the National Trust for Historic Preservation to revive and strengthen the historic cores of communities across the nation. More than 2,000 communities are using the Mainstreet Four-Point Approach, which address design elements within the district, promotion of events and image, economic restructuring to gauge and strengthen economic health, and organization of the entities within the district as a unified voice. CMC class distributes wage and benefit survey
A human resource management class at Colorado Mountain College is conducting a comprehensive wage and benefit survey for local employers.
Businesses and organizations are encouraged to participate in the survey. Invitations to participate will be sent out this week to members of the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association. Nonmembers can call Darcy Trask at 846-1663 to request an invitation.
