— Wall court appearance moved to 8:30 a.m. Dec. 4

Routt County Sheriff Gary Wall's first court appearance on charges of driving under the influence and prohibited use of a weapon has been moved to 8:30 a.m. Dec. 4. The hearing previously was moved up from Jan. 8 to Nov. 27, but a scheduling conflict for Ron Smith, Wall's attorney, resulted in the hearing being postponed another week.

Wall was cited Oct. 27 for DUI and the related weapons charge by Colorado State Patrol Trooper Brett Hilling. Wall was pulled over at U.S. Highway 40 and Walton Creek Road for allegedly failing to dim his headlights.

Wall has said he didn't take any roadside sobriety tests, and he was not arrested. Neither Wall nor the State Patrol have said much about the incident, although Wall has insisted he wasn't intoxicated.

Since when does the Steamboat Briefs section of the paper announce court hearings?

Does anyone remember when the paper was run by a local family? I won't say the name for fear of having my post removed by the censors ( it begins with an L has an E then a CK followed by another E an N and ends in BY). The paper actually had some integrity back then. The editors cared about reporting the news in an unbiased manner. They told both sides of the story, not just the side they wanted to be told.

Oh well, those days are gone now. Welcome to FOX.

We're talking about the Pilot and Today. The seedy little tabloid of Steamboat. Shameful and disgusting staff and management. I couldn't work for that unscrupulous group of people.

I have never seen somethng like a court date written in the briefs before.

Mr. Boyer has spent too much time with standford and schlict and what's her name larson. tainted goods.

yeh, dimwitiguess.

Sorry, a drunken sheriff driving a county owned vehicle and carrying a weapon is news, so is keeping us up to date on when (if ever) he is going to explain his actions. After all, he is a public figure voted into an important office even if he is a joke.

just, raver & musk...you're all right on target...wonder how many more times this court date will be moved and if there will be any resolution that the public will be told about..SP&T please keep up with these "changes" and keep the public notified! We DO have a right to know.

wzftsu--thanks for posting...a lot of us missed this in the "Briefs" section. Happy Thanksgiving.

Brent,

Thanks for the link. I missed it.

Will the Pilot be covering the hearing?

You know full well that the Pilot will be covering the hearing, they just won't bother sending a reporter instead they will ask the DAs office to e-mail them a statement. Then they might contact Wall's lawyer and ask him to e-mail them a statement.
