Happy to be here
Be thankful this season for what you've got and where you live. We really have so many reasons to be joyful at this time of Thanksgiving, here in Routt County!
If you don't agree, look around the country. We have it soooooo good. Every day is a holiday compared to what others live with.
The snow will come.

Remember when
Having lived here for the past 35 years:I want to ask your other long time "locals" if they remember only being open for a few weeks one season, several seasons having to ride up the gondola or Christie & Thunderhead before touching snow, skiing down on straw? The year they closed the gondola during Christmas : we even had the Cowboy Downhill on Upper Vagabond one year. Buying a pass early has always been a gamble : Anybody remember the bonfires at the remote parking lot where we sacrificed old skis to the "Snow Gods?"

Kudos to Tom Ross
Bravo Tom, I am sure winter will come, as it always does, (except for 1975). We used to have to wait 'til December for opening day. Now, can I borrow some pine tar from ya?

School traffic
I am sick and tired of hiring consultants for every decision in this town. Visit other districts, talk with other schools and implement a solution.
To prevent kids from having to walk in front of traffic, all drop-off has to be along the sidewalk in front of each school, which is very long and could probably handle 20 cars at a time. Eliminate island in the middle and make the left lane for parking, right for drop-off, the opposite of what it is right now.

Traffic smoother
The most important thing to keep the traffic flow smooth and spread out over time is to keep the drop off time for the elementary school and the middle school about 10-20 minutes apart:. The plan they put in place at the begining of the year did not work well. It took three times as long to get through the drop-off process, which means there were three times as many cars in the lot. It is a good thing they quit doing it. Things are much smoother now.

Longer season?
I realize that Ski Corp cannot be responsible for the warm weather that has postponed the opening, so, as a good will gesture, how about extending the season by 1 week? The mountain is closing early anyway.
