State Congressmen pay off on World Series wager

U.S. Sen. Ken Salazar, a Democrat, and U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard, a Republican, have paid off on a World Series wager made with U.S. Sen. John Kerry and U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy, both Democrats from Massachusetts. After the Colorado Rockies lost the 2007 World Series in four games to the Boston Red Sox, Salazar and Allard shipped 100 pounds of Colorado-raised beef to the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, which prepared a dinner for Boston-area veterans Tuesday evening.

Coleman Natural Beef Company of Golden provided the beef, and two Massachusetts restaurants chipped in with donations and food preparation.
