Beall appointed resort development VP

Industry veteran and architect Doug Beall has been appointed Vice President-Development of Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp., the resort announced Nov. 2.

Beall will be responsible for all real estate development aspects of the resort, including overseeing Steamboat Ski and Resort Realty, and will act as a liaison between the resort and Intrawest Placemaking, Ski Corp.'s parent company's development arm. He will report directly to Ski Corp. President and CEO Chris Diamond.

Since joining Intrawest in January 2006, Beall served as director of Intrawest Placemaking, where he oversaw four condominium and hotel development projects at Snowmass Base Village.

Other previous positions include director of design and construction for Ultimate Electronics/SoundTrack, director of architecture for RMA Architects/Alley Construction, and senior project architect for Design Partnership. Beall has been honored for his work by the National Association of Store Fixture Manufacturers and the American Institute of Architects.

Beall graduated summa cum laude from the University of Idaho with a bachelor's degree in architecture and holds a master's degree in the same field from the University of California, Berkeley.

Local banks announce promotions

Bob Kuusinen has been named market president of Vectra Bank in Steamboat Springs, and Ruth Dombrowski has been promoted to senior vice president at Alpine Bank.

Kuusinen will manage the bank's main location on Pine Grove Road and its downtown branch. He has been active in the local banking industry for the past four years after a 30-year career at Steamboat Ski Area, where he was vice president of operations for 13 years.

Dombrowski has 26 years of banking experience, beginning as a high school student at Colorado National Bank in Denver. She specializes in commercial lending and wealth management.
