County Clerk office to be closed Monday, Tuesday

- The Routt County Clerk & Recorders Office will be closed from noon Monday through Tuesday to prepare for voting locations and conduct polling on Election Day.

- Applications for designation to the Routt County Register of Historic Properties are due Nov. 21 to the County Commissioners' office on the second floor of the Routt County Courthouse Annex on Sixth Street. For information call Dee Bolton at 879-0108.

Military donations needed for holiday care packages

The Yampa Valley Community Foundation's Support The Troops initiative is requesting names and addresses of military members serving in Afganistan and Iraq. If you would like someone you know who is serving overseas to receive a holiday care package, e-mail contact information to marci@steamboatrealestate.com by Nov. 7. To make a monetary donation, call the foundation at 879-8632 or donate online at www.yvcf.org.

Vision 2030 meetings underway across county

Vision 2030 community meetings are scheduled throughout Routt County in November, as part of the Vision 2030 update and discovery of what we value in our valley. Come and make your voice heard about what you believe makes the Yampa Valley special and what values you think should be considered in future planning, growth and development.

Meetings will feature discussion groups and keypad polling to let every idea and opinion be heard. A light supper and child care will be provided.

Upcoming meetings are from 6 to 9 p.m. at the following dates and locations:

- Steamboat Springs - Wednesday at Olympian Hall in Howelsen Lodge

- Steamboat Springs - Thursday at Christian Heritage School

- Hayden - Nov. 12 in Exhibit Hall at the Routt County Fairgrounds

- Oak Creek - Nov. 13 at Soroco High School
