Water-quality monitoring program meeting tonight
Steamboat Springs The Routt County Department of Environmental Health is hosting a meeting tonight to discuss the formation of a water-quality monitoring program for the Yampa River Basin. The meeting is at 7 p.m. in the Commissioners' Hearing Room of the Routt County Courthouse Annex, on Sixth Street in downtown Steamboat Springs. Featured speakers include Caroline Bradford of the Eagle River Watershed Council. For more information, contact environmental health director Mike Zopf at 879-0185.
Soda Creek informational meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday
An informational meeting to update parents and the community about the temporary Soda Creek Elementary School facility is at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Soda Creek gymnasium.
Soda Creek students and staff will use the school district's property at Seventh and Pine streets as a temporary school until the new building is completed. Steamboat Springs School District officials say they want to keep parents and the community informed about the plans. Another meeting is planned for August.
Clerk and Recorder's Office to be short staffed
Routt County Clerk and Recorder's Office is hosting the 2007 Clerks Conference at the Sheraton Steamboat Resort next week. About 200 participants are expected for the event, which runs Monday through Friday. Because of the conference, the Clerk and Recorder's Office will be short staffed next week.
Clerk and Recorder's Office staff request that the public try to conduct any business with the office either this week or the week of June 11.
