Applications available for Environmental Fund

— The Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's Employee Environmental Fund annually awards grants to support charitable projects that benefit environmental issues in the Yampa Valley. Funds may be requested for nonprofit purposes contributing to improvement or development of environmental projects, programs or facilities.

Applications can be found at www.yvcf.org or by stopping by the Yampa Valley Community Foundation offices (465 Anglers Drive, Suite 2-G). Applications are due by 5 p.m. today at the Community Foundation office. Call 879-8632.

VNA to hold adolescent immunization clinic today

Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association will hold an immunization clinic for adolescents ages 11 to 18 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. today at the Steamboat VNA office, 940 Central Park Drive, Suite 101. Vaccinations will be offered for Meningococcal (offered only to students age 11 to 12 years old, freshmen entering high school or graduating seniors attending college in fall 2007), Tdap (tetanus booster), Hepatitis A and HPV for females. No appointment is necessary. Students younger than 18 must have a parent present and bring their vaccine records. The VNA charges a sliding scale of free to $14 per shot. A Spanish interpreter is available. Call 879-1632.

LIFT-UP closed all week to process donations

The LIFT-UP Donation Center will be closed for the entire week of May 28 to process all of the recent donations. New donations will be accepted beginning June 5. The Community Thrift Store and Food Bank are open during their usual hours.

Old Town Hot Springs still accepting swim registration

Old Town Hot Springs is still accepting registration forms for session B swim lessons for children. The session is from May 29 to June 15, and the cost ranges from $35 to $80 a session. Call Nancy at 879-1828, ext. 22.

Pregnancy Resource Center welcomes walk-ins

The Steamboat Springs Pregnancy Resource Center, 544 Oak St., is open from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and from 9 a.m. to noon Thursdays for free pregnancy tests and ultrasounds. The center also stocks many items for babies. Walk-ins always welcome. Call 871-1307.
