Local company honored by marketing association

Steamboat Springs publisher and photographer Jim Steinberg and his company, Portfolio Publications, recently were awarded first place and Gold Awards by the National Calendar Marketing Association.

Steinberg and Portfolio Publications received first place and the Gold Award in the national and world categories for Best Scenic Photography in an engagement calendar; and first place and the Gold Award in the world category for Best Scenic Photography in a wall calendar. This is the seventh consecutive year that Steinberg has been honored by the National Calendar Marketing Association for his work.

Steinberg has been a Steamboat Springs-based nature photographer for more than 30 years, and his work has appeared in National Geographic, Nature's Best, Backpacker, Life, Discover, Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report, Scientific American and numerous other publications. Tobacco-free quit kits available through VNA

Tobacco-free quit kits for smokers and chewers are available at the Visiting Nurse Association office in Steamboat, 940 Central Park Drive, Suite 101. The kits promote the Colorado QuitLine and free support from a trained coach who guides and supports individuals through the quitting process. Workforce Forum Series starts next month

The Steamboat Springs Economic Development Council is presenting a Workforce Forum Series to be held once a month through August covering information relating to the Yampa Valley. Topics will include construction updates, workforce housing, workforce retention, workforce recruitment and workforce training. The series will be held at Rex's American Grill from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 21, July 18 and Aug. 8. Cost is $15 per forum or $70 for all five.
