Christian Heritage School's honor roll

Sixth grade: Jay Lanning, Jack Pietig, Erik Powers, Tyler Scott, Dylan Wilkinson and Sam Zwak.

Seventh grade: Emily Heiner, Melodie Houston, Matthew Jones, Daniel Melvin, Scott Powers, Erik Spahr and Kirsten Williams.

Eighth grade: Leah Berdine, Carly Fox, Cassidy Fox, Ryan Hall and Hope Scott.

Ninth grade: Hannah Zwak.

10th grade: Myung Chi Cha, Areumsol Choi and John Cutter.

11th grade: Theresa Cutter and Kristen Miller.

12th grade: Nicole Bowes, Garrett Brew, Lewis Cutter, Marc Hall, Kevin Kinga and Rachel Van Baak.

Lewis Optimist Teen of Month

Steamboat Springs High School senior Abbey Lewis has been named the Optimist Club Teen of the Month for June. Lewis, 17, has been on the Honor Roll every semester of high school and is on the Spanish National Honor Society.

Lewis has been a counselor for Link Crew for two years and is part of the high school's Leadership Class. Lewis also has been a counselor for the Yampa Valley Science School and took youth mission trips to New York and Tijuana.

Lewis has played soccer for 12 years, including four in high school. She also skis and participates in her church youth group.

Lewis plans on attending the University of Colorado in Boulder to major in Ethnic Studies. She later plans to get a teaching license to teach in places where education is scarce.
