Flower orders can be picked up Thursday

Hayden Middle School "People to People World Leadership" participants would like to remind everyone who ordered flowers that they will be available for pick up from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday in the middle school parking lot. County Road 14 to undergo repairs Thursday

The Routt County Road and Bridge Department will repair County Road 14 near Yellow Jacket Pass on Thursday. Motorists should anticipate heavy truck traffic and delays between Stagecoach Reservoir and the north intersection of RCR 14 and Colorado Highway 131. Call 870-5308 for more information.

HPV vaccine available for girls ages 9 to 18

The Human Papillomavirus vaccine now is available through the Colorado Vaccines for Children program for eligible girls ages 9 to 18. The vaccine protects against four major types of HPV, including the types that cause about 70 percent of cervical cancer cases and 90 percent of genital warts. HPV is spread through sexual contact. Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association provides vaccinations for children under age 19 on a sliding scale of free to $14.50 a shot. No child will be refused a vaccine due to an inability to pay. Additionally, VNA can provide the vaccine to eligible low-income women ages 19 to 26 who have no insurance under Merck's Patient Assistance Program. For more information, call the VNA at 879-1632.

Routt County 4-H accepting members

Membership enrollment is ongoing for Routt County 4-H. Routt County 4-H membership is open to any youths in Routt County. Participants must be between the ages of 5 and 18 as of Jan. 1. Stop by the Routt County Extension Service Office in the Courthouse Annex or call 879-0825.

Employee Environmental Fund forms due May 30

The Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's Employee Environmental Fund annually awards grants to support charitable projects that benefit environmental issues in the Yampa Valley. Funds may be requested for nonprofit purposes contributing to improvement or development of environmental projects, programs or facilities.

Applications can be found at www.yvcf.org or by stopping by the Yampa Valley Community Foundation offices (465 Anglers Drive, Suite 2-G). Applications are due by 5 p.m. May 30 at the Community Foundations office. Call 879-8632.

Free vaccinations available for adults with risk factors

Free Twinrix (Hepatitis A and B) vaccinations are available to adults 18 and older who have certain risk factors and have not previously had these vaccinations. Eligible recipients include adults who have had more than one sex partner in the past six months, have had a recent STD, use illegal drugs or those who are from a less developed country. Call the Visiting Nurse Association at 879-1632 to receive vaccination protection against hepatitis. The VNA office is at 940 Central Park Drive, Suite 101.
