'Predator' case moves forward in court
A man classified as a sexually violent predator who is facing charges of failing to register as a sex offender in Routt County appeared in court Monday for a preliminary hearing.
Ronald Eugene Noel, 44, is scheduled to return to Routt County District Court at 2 p.m. May 15 for his arraignment, which was bound to district court after a judge decided there was enough evidence present to move forward with the man's case.
Noel was the subject of a community notification in March when the Routt County Sheriff's Office identified him as a sexually violent predator and distributed his name and picture.
Noel was arrested for failing to register in October 2006, during a traffic stop by Steamboat Springs police. Noel subsequently registered two days later.
