Hayden Town Board takes action on several items
The Hayden Town Board met Thursday to discuss and take action on several agenda items.
The Town Board declared Arbor Day will be celebrated April 27 at Dry Creek Park. Trees will be planted near the entrance to the park.
The Town Board unanimously renewed the Food Mill Restaurant's liquor license for another year. The Town Code also was amended to address changes to the subdivision code as well as landscaping and grade provisions.
A bid was awarded to Precision Excavating for soil preparation work at Dry Creek Park.
The Town Board also met in executive, or secret, session to discuss the "purchase, acquisition, lease, transfer or sale of real, personal or other property interest."
Sheriff's office to hold meeting about sex offender
The Routt County Sheriff's Office will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. Friday to inform the public that a man classified as a sexually violent predator has moved to the county.
The meeting is at the Steam-boat Grand Resort Hotel. The meeting is part of a public notification process required by law, said Sheriff Gary Wall. At the meeting, the man's name, photo and address will be distributed. The man does not live in the city limits of Steamboat Springs, Wall said.
Art Council seeking artwork entries for guide cover
The Steamboat Springs Arts Council and Ski Town Publications are seeking entries for the cover artwork for the 2007 Spring/Summer edition of Yampa Valley Arts & Gallery Guide. The winning artist will be featured in the guide. The deadline for entries is April 6. Applications can be downloaded at www.steamboatspringsarts.com or e-mail email@example.com.
