A group of developers has finalized the purchase of 540 acres west of Steamboat Springs for approximately $25 million. The land is owned by Steve and Mary Brown.

If it isn't a spring blizzard, then it's marauding bands of mule deer bent on migrating beside the highway in the middle of the night. We returned from Denver International Airport on Saturday night and we knew in advance it was going to be a late one. We didn't begin the climb out of Morrison on Interstate 70 until shortly after 10 p.m., and that meant we wouldn't be back in the Yampa Valley until nearly 1 a.m. Sunday. Still, we felt pretty good about the trip because the reports were that the roads were dry. And then, there was that gorgeous "Sugaring Moon" as the March full moon is known in some northern climes, lighting up the sky above the Rockies.

Warm weather to give way to snow
