Sister Hazel performs concert for hazelnuts

January sales tax revenues up 12.4 percent compared to last year

Sales tax revenues for the city of Steamboat Springs started off in 2007 a lot better than they ended in 2006. The city reported a double-digit percentage increase in revenues collected during January 2007 compared to January 2006.

City hopes to redesign downtown with more trees, upgrades

The future of Lincoln Avenue through downtown Steamboat Springs is shady. City officials want consultants to design Lincoln Avenue improvements such as increased trees, improved curbs and sidewalks, and better benches, bus stops and bike racks. The plans also could suggest locations for a future downtown parking garage and the removal of parking spaces on one side of the street to widen Lincoln Avenue.
