Support group meeting on July 4 is canceled

— The Depression and Bi-Polar Support Group will not meet July 4. The group's next meeting is at 6:30 p.m. July 18 in Conference Room 2 at Yampa Valley Medical Center. Call Ronna Autrey at 875-2941 or 871-0682.

Register for Yampatika's summer programs

Enrollment is open for Yampatika's summer programs for children ages 3 to 11. Register your child online at or call 871-9151. Yampatika also offers programs for families and adults.

Sunday's Ranch Rodeo entry forms due Friday

The entry deadline for Sunday's Ranch Rodeo is 5 p.m. Friday. Entry forms must be turned in to Mountain Valley Bank next to Ace at the Curve. The rodeo has a 20-team limit. The events begin at 5 p.m. Sunday at Brent Romick Rodeo Arena. For more information, call Dean at 870-6550.

Transportation to medical centers available to veterans

Transportation to the Grand Junction and Denver VA medical centers is available for veterans who are unable to drive and who have an appointment Monday through Friday at either hospital. This service is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Call the Veterans Affairs Officer of Routt County at 879-5489 or e-mail to arrange transportation.

Veterans are encouraged to take advantage of the medical services available to them through the VA. Entering the VA medical system requires a copy of your DD 214 and about 20 minutes to fill out a form with the VA officer. The Routt County office is in the Workforce Center in the Sundance at Fish Creek shopping center. The office is open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

Writers Conference has few openings remaining

Only a few openings remain for the 26th annual Steamboat Springs Writers Conference. The conference is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 21 at the Depot Art Center. The cost is $55, which includes four seminars and a luncheon. Instructors are Robert Greer and Claudia Mills. Registration forms are available at the Depot.
