Bonnie Ives: Name insulting

An article recently appeared in the Steamboat Pilot & Today concerning "Mad House," (on Mad Creek and destined for demolition by the U.S. Forest Service).

"Mad Creek Ranch" deserves the respect projected from the very beginning of existence and still does with all its beauty. Please don't desecrate the ranch or call it such horrible names. I would appreciate the "Mad Barn" sign to be replaced with its proper name, "Mad Creek Ranch." Also, do not refer to the lodge as "Mad House." It is "Mad Creek Lodge."

Hunters from all over the United States stayed at the lodge with my father, Fred Ives, as their guide.

My first two years of life were spent at the Mad Creek Lodge, so I know it was built in the 1930s or earlier. I was born in January 1942.

Please honor the ranch with respect and good taste, taking away the labels of Mad House and Mad Barn. They are disgraceful.
