Limit real estate
The Town Council in Crested Butte is considering an ordinance to limit the real estate companies on their main street (Elk Ave). The commercial rents have gotten so high that the only businesses that can afford the rent are the realtors. Small shops are getting squeezed out by the high rents. Will this happen here to? Our City Council should go ahead and get it over with and include a realtor limitation in their ordinance. Linkage will only make the high rent situation even worse.

Insane ordinance
Mark my words ... If this insanity becomes law (and it will), it will be the single biggest mistake this city ever made. It will do nothing but harm to all (and lots of it).

Vote on it
On the linkage discussion: If the policy and the ordinance adopted by city council are crafted to exempt some people and not others, then doesn't the nature of it change from a fee to a tax? If so - and I'm not sure, I'd like to hear some expertise out there on this - then the whole thing would require a public vote under Colorado state law as a tax issue, wouldn't it?

Creepy and gross
This (caterpillar outbreak) is equally as gross as the grasshopper problem we had in Steamboat four years ago. The sounds of crunching under my feet when I walked around downtown still haunts me : Creepy things!

Saluting Koile
Best of Luck to Linda (Koile)! Hopefully you will be more appreciated on your next leg of your journey. Thank you for the time and efforts on the events, rather at the school or town, that you have been involved. I applaud you and the tenacity that you have that has taken you through your career changes, even following through from being the code enforcement officer to chief of police.

Pay for the gas
If you believe that $4.50 per tank of gas is a reason to use lower octane fuel, just wait until you burn up a couple of pistons. Worth the risk? Yeah, typical Steamboat thinking. Maybe it's the high altitude that addles the brains of locals. When you stomp down on the gas and "maybe" hear that little extra rattle or pinging sound that somehow seems new, that's called predetonation. Predetonation causes higher cylinder head temperatures. Higher cylinder temperatures cause holes to burn in the top of pistons. Holes in pistons cause Durangos to be no-gos.

Stanford's not smart
What an idiot. Hope (Scott Stanford) likes having his car out of commission for repairs.
