Friday, June 1

6:03 a.m. A 53-year-old Fort Collins man was arrested in the 37000 block of Routt County Road 14 on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving, failing to notify police of an accident and failing to remain at the scene of an accident after he apparently lost control of his vehicle and drove into a ditch. No injuries were reported.

8:07 a.m. Two dogs reportedly were fighting in the 300 block of Cherry Drive. One of the dog's owners was given a ticket.

8:23 a.m. Someone reportedly broke into a building in the 1500 block of Pine Grove Road and stole a key cutting machine, a circular saw and a radio. Vandalism to the building also was reported. The incident is under investigation.

10:49 a.m. A man reportedly did not return a rental car to a business in the 2200 block of County Shop Road. The situation was handled civilly.

10:53 a.m. A teenager was taken to the hospital.

11:11 a.m. A Steamboat Springs High School student was cited for being a minor in consumption at the high school.

12:09 p.m. Two teens were cited for stealing two bottles of Coca-Cola from the 1800 block of Central Park Drive.

1:37 p.m. A found bicycle was turned into the police department.

3:59 p.m. A series of vandalism reports were taken at the high school after a group of seniors painted "seniors rule" on vehicles in the school parking lot. Police said the paint that was used is not coming off the vehicles. The incident is under investigation.

4:33 p.m. A ladder reportedly was stolen from the 300 block of Old Fish Creek Falls Road.

9:08 p.m. A bear reportedly was trying to get into a house through a doggy door in the 1000 block of Steamboat Boulevard. The bear was unsuccessful, and Colorado Division of Wildlife officials are handling the situation.

9:31 p.m. Someone thought two children were home alone in the 1200 block of Lincoln Avenue. Officers checked on the kids, and they were fine.

10:12 p.m. A brother and sister were arrested during a family dispute.

10:27 p.m. Residents in the 1300 block of Sparta Plaza were given a warning to be quiet.

bluntman... thanks for the story link. It does seem to me that it would have saved the taxpayers some money had the Dinosaur town officials checked his credentials before they hired him. I mean, who gives someone a badge and a gun without a thorough background check and proper training (routt county & oak creek excepted)?
