"I don't wave a magic wand over your head to change your life," says Steamboat Springs shaman Rob Wergin. "It's your journey, not mine."
Spiritual teacher Rob Wergin leads a series of four classes next month designed to help people live their lives the way they've always wanted to.
Steamboat Springs As a child, Rob Wergin used to see angels, a talent that made his parents uncomfortable.
Wergin thought seeing angels was a gift and is now dedicating his life to helping others realize their own personal gifts.
"What I've noticed through the work I do now is that every person on the planet has some special gift," he said. "They may be a healer, they might be a writer, or they may have a special voice. But most people aren't aware of their gifts because we learn to subdue them and bury our truths."
Wergin, a Steamboat Springs Shaman, healer and spiritual teacher, has developed a series of classes designed to help people leave behind their "emotional baggage" to help them realize their personal gifts to lead a fulfilling and "in joyable" life.
"Owning Your Power" is a series of four classes that are designed to help people live their lives they've always wanted to, he said.
"It's about living your life with power, which means in love, in compassion and the way you want to live," he said. "Spirituality to me is living in joy with bliss and clarity, not filled with the baggage we all carry around."
Wergin began teaching the classes, which are the first level on a four level scale, years ago. Since then, he has watched people experience life-altering changes as a result of taking the classes.
"I don't wave a magic wand over your head to change your life," he said. "It's your journey, not mine. This is all about changing your thought and your speech to believe you can be the person you always knew you were or always knew you could be."
Wergin said the classes are open to students of all ages and he encourages people in any relationship "to make the journey together."
"I get so much joy in watching people transform from one class to the next," he said. "It's just amazing to me because it's hard to recognize yourself at the end of the four classes."
