12:04 a.m. Steamboat Springs police officers arrested an 18-year-old man after officers responded to a loud party at 2015 Bear Road. Tyler Ross Jones, 18, of Steamboat Springs was arrested and charged with DUI, DUI per se, minor in possession and possession of fireworks.
Sulphur Cave expedition planned
A sulphur cave on Howelsen Hill - a caving attraction whose discovery pre-dates the city of Steamboat Springs - will undergo scientific scrutiny next month.

Stock Dog Challenge to host photo contest
The Steamboat Stock Dog Challenge is Sept. 1 to 3 at the Stanko Ranch. A photo contest called "Dogs At Work" will be featured as part of the stock dog event. Dog owners are encouraged to submit photos of their dogs at work, specifically dogs that help their owners at their jobs. Working dogs can include hunting and sport dogs, service dogs, shop dogs, office dogs, construction dogs, rafting dogs and stock dogs.
