— Following is a list of major July 4 holiday events in the Yampa Valley.

Holiday week events

Tuesday

- Art on the Mountain, featuring numerous artists and vendors, is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Gondola Square at the Steamboat Ski Area.

- Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo is at 7:30 p.m. at Brent Romick Rodeo Arena in downtown Steamboat. Admission is $14 for adults and $7 for children 6 to 15.

Wednesday (July 4)

- The Steamboat Lions Club's annual Fourth of July Breakfast is from 7 to 10 a.m. at the Steamboat Springs Community Center. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for seniors and children 10 and younger. Enjoy all you can eat pancakes, sausages, eggs, juice and coffee. Proceeds will benefit local projects.

- The First National Bank of Steamboat Springs Fourth of July Parade is at 10 a.m. on Lincoln Avenue in downtown Steamboat.

- Art on the Mountain, featuring numerous artists and vendors, is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Gondola Square at the Steamboat Ski Area.

- A Strawberry Festival is at United Methodist Church of Steamboat Springs after the downtown parade. Enjoy strawberry sundaes and lemonade from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Proceeds will benefit local charities.

- A Pioneer Day Block Party is at 11:30 a.m. at the Tread of Pioneers Museum, Eighth and Oak streets in downtown Steamboat. There will be a free Strings in the Mountains concert, food, children's activities, community nonprofit displays, pioneer characters and the famous Routt Beer Floats.

- The town of Yampa's Fourth of July celebration begins with a parade at 1 p.m. Parade lineup is at noon, and a beef barbecue will follow the parade. Horse polo is at 4 p.m., and fireworks are at dark. Call Arlene Porteus at 638-4496 for more information.

- A Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo series event is at 7 p.m. at Brent Romick Rodeo Arena in downtown Steamboat. Admission is $14 for adults and $7 for children 6 to 15.

- The Steamboat Springs fireworks show begins after the rodeo at about 9:30 p.m. The fireworks show will take place at Howelsen Hill.

July 7

- The 27th annual Hot Air Balloon Rodeo is from 6:30 to 10 a.m. at Bald Eagle Lake on U.S. Highway 40 east of Steamboat Springs. Park at the Meadows parking lot on Mount Werner and Pine Grove roads to take the free shuttle to the event, beginning at 6 a.m. No pets or smoking at the event.

- The 33rd annual Art in the Park is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at West Lincoln Park, 13th Street and Lincoln Avenue in downtown Steamboat. Call 879-9008.

July 8
