Charlie Vogel: Put Coulter to rest
I do believe it's time to put an end to the Ann Coulter column. I noticed that she didn't have one this Thursday, probably due to her busy TV schedule to promote a book called "Godless: The Church of Liberalism" and to call for the assassination of a U.S. presidential candidate.
Paul and Mona Blee: Exceptional effort
We want to commend the Routt County Sheriff's Department for the recent search for our daughter Marie's physical remains. They put forth a tremendous effort and while they were not able to locate her remains, we appreciate all the work and cannot thank them enough. There was such exceptional coordination and cooperation from all involved. We also thank the NecroSearch team and Paul Draper's road and bridge crew for the great job they did.
Conservative commentary: Understanding the truth
I believe it was one of my idols, second president John Adams, who said that "every man is entitled to his opinion but not his own set of facts." President Adams would be a very frustrated man today for so many in the media seem determined to fold, bend and mutilate the facts into what they want the public to believe even when they know it's not the truth.
Our View: Compensate administrators fairly
The Steamboat Springs School Board should use the same criteria for determining pay and benefit packages for its administrators that it uses in determining pay and benefits for teachers and support staff.

Thrilling finish to challenging 10K trail nationals
It started with a grueling uphill that most competitors chose to describe as brutal. More than 1,000 feet in elevation gain in the first 1.65 miles took an elite field of the country's 67 top trail runners up and then straight back down Christie Peak at Mount Werner. And that was just the first lap.

Dave Shively: Growing in Golden
The "pure Rocky Mountain spring waters," that flow into Golden provided the foundation for the world's largest single-site brewery and helped put Colorado on the map, or at least create an ideal of it in the minds of Coors' drinkers - specifically those who have never smelled the general brewery vicinity or wonder about what really washes off Interstate-70 and into Clear Creek.

Jimmy Westlake: The summer Milky Way
When the bright moon is not in the sky, the dark summer night reveals one of its most spectacular treasures - the soft, misty glow of the "Via Lactea," or the Milky Way. Contrary to what the ancient Romans believed, the Milky Way is not made of milk, but is the combined light of billions of distant suns, unresolved by the unaided eye.
