William S. Schurman: Unworthy of praise

Shame on the Pilot & Today for printing a front page article praising Jim Cook (who was not well received as the newsmaker of the year) and by choosing not to run the story about the renovation of the Squire building by the Hogue family on the front page. They have truly benefited the community by restoring their building to its original beauty.
Contrasting the foresight of the Hogues to restore their building are the projects of the newly arrived developers with their out-of-town money men which will do nothing to enhance the downtown area. My hope is that other local business owners will take the lead from the Hogues and restore and retain the beauty of their buildings.
