Northcutt also participates in Lowell Whiteman's foreign travel program, which culminated in a trip to Sikkim, India, last year. She received the school's annual Foreign Travel Award.

Northcutt mentors a group of girls ages 10 to 14 in the Challenge Group, a program aimed at helping youths make good choices and resist negative peer pressure. Northcutt also participated as a leader in the community's Youth Corps.
