Grooms need to look just as formal - but not quite as nice - as their brides. And in Northwest Colorado, that often means mixing cowboy style with traditional wedding attire.
"Since we are pretty Western out here, a lot of people are looking for the cowboy formal, which is pretty much just a jacket with black jeans, a black cowboy hat, and often no tie - or sometimes, a string tie or bolo," said Jasmine Marie, manager of Celebrations on U.S. Highway 40 west of downtown Steamboat Springs.
Marie said Celebrations, which sends tuxedo measurements to Anderson's Formal Wear, offers tuxedo rentals from $79 to $94 for a full weekend.
"Do it way ahead of time - allow three weeks at least," Marie advised grooms and groomsmen. "And definitely come in to try it on before the wedding day - if something doesn't fit, we can overnight it for adjustments. Part of your responsibility is to make sure, before the wedding day, that everything fits and looks the way you want."
Marie said that while spring and summer - especially Labor Day weekend - are the busiest seasons for wedding, it's never too early to call about prices or check out different styles.
