Volunteers needed for international food festival


Comunidad Integrada/Integrated Community is looking for volunteers to help with set up, food service and clean up at the second annual Taquiza international food festival at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 16 at Holy Name Catholic Church. Call 846-5521 for details.

Women's Nordic Ski Clinic meets at 10 a.m. Fridays

A Nordic Ski Clinic for Women will meet from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Fridays, beginning Feb. 16 and ending March 9. All levels are welcome. Groups will be matched by ability, and skate and classic techniques will be taught. The cost is $120 for the four-week session. Call the Lake Catamount Touring Center at 871-6667 to reserve a spot.

Pink scarves sales to

benefit breast cancer

The pink scarves on sale at Epilogue Book Co. make excellent Valentine's Day gifts and serve as a benefit for the Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Project, a local nonprofit organization that helps women being treated for breast cancer. Call Jo at 846-2627 for more information.

Yampa Valley Medical Center needs volunteers

Begin the new year by making a difference. Volunteers are needed for Yampa Valley Medical Center's Kiddie Kuddler program and for the lobby Information Desk. Call volunteer coordinator Mindy Fontaine at 870-1146 to discuss available shifts and job descriptions.

ALS monthly support group available

Anyone interested in joining an ALS support group is asked to call Carol Gordon of the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association at 870-3232. The monthly support group is for people with ALS or caregivers of people with ALS.

Steamboat Art Museum needs volunteers

The Steamboat Art Museum needs volunteers to staff the museum through April 15. Volunteers will work two- or three-hour shifts once a week. Training will be provided and required. Call Nancy Westphale at 846-0504 or Linda Knox at 879-3076.

A capella group booking telegram Valentines

Emerald City Opera's a cappella vocal group The Jewel Singers is booking Singing Telegram appearances for Valentine's Day. The group will provide live, costumed vocal telegrams on Feb. 14.
