Deb MacIntyre: Thanks, Doak

With a new year, I would like to remind everyone how fortunate we are to have a facility as outstanding as the Doak Walker Center.

After an accident last summer, I spent eight days in the hospital. After that, my family decided I needed to go to the Doak for rehab. As a great relief to me, I met the most wonderful group of people in the valley. Not once did I come across anyone who wasn't always pleasant - from dinning room people, laundry people, cleaning, CMAs, nurses and anyone else working there. A good number of the young women working as CMAs also are attending college to be registered nurses, and they still manage to do it all. Dr. Lori Harrington has been there since the beginning, and she's always supportive.

My physical therapists took up a good part of my day. They really got me started on my road to recovery and were very nice about it. My OT is someone you can't live without. She taught me how to do those daily activities that we always take for granted. This is a great group of caring and competent people. They need more pats on the back.

I still have a great therapist in Hayden and a wonderful family that has been supportive through it all.

A big thank you to Kristie Lyn at Wildhorse Salon for donating her time to help with the other therapy.
