Teams to converge for hockey tournament

The Adele Dombrowski Girls Hockey Tournament is Feb. 9 to 11 at Howelsen Ice Arena. The Steamboat Springs Youth Hockey Association tournament will feature competition in three divisions of girls hockey - U-12, U-14 and U-19. Teams from across the state, and from as far away as Arizona, will compete for top honors in their respective divisions. Grant fund applications are due by March 15
Applications for the Routt County Museum and Heritage Capacity-Building Grant Fund are due in the Routt County Board of Commissioners Office in the Courthouse Annex by March 15. Qualified projects must relate to historic preservation and must be sponsored and administered by a qualified museum entity within your district. The approved museum entities are the Yampa, Oak Creek and Phippsburg Historical Society, Tread of Pioneers Museum, Hahn's Peak Historical Society, Historic Routt County and Hayden Heritage Center. Applications are evaluated on a set of standardized criteria available through the museum entities and specified in the application packet. Volunteers needed to teach English classes
Comunidad Integrada needs volunteers to teach English to local immigrants. Volunteers must commit to 1 1/2 hours a week for six months. A two-part training for volunteers is from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 10 and 17 in Bogue Hall on the Colorado Mountain College campus. Call 819-1328 to register. No foreign language skills are necessary.
Program receives 654 donations from children
Bud Werner Memorial Library is pleased to announce that during its "Food For Fines" program in December, 101 children and teens donated 654 items of food to the Steamboat Springs LIFT-UP Food Bank. The library wishes to thank all the children and parents who participated in this annual program.
