Money makeover course offered starting Jan. 14
Steamboat Springs United Methodist Church in Steamboat Springs will hold a 13-week Financial Peace University course, aimed at helping families struggling with debt, beginning Jan. 14.
Financial Peace University is a program developed by Dave Ramsey, radio personality and author of the book "Total Money Makeover," to teach decision-making, goal setting and financial priorities. On average, families who have participated in the program have paid off more than $5,300 in debt and saved $2,700 during the 91-day program, according to a news release from the company.
Free previews of the course will be offered at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 30 and 3:30 p.m. Jan. 5 at United Methodist Church, Eighth and Oak streets.
There is a $95 fee for the course. For more information, call the church at 879-1290.
Colorado Group Realty announces awards
Three of Colorado Group Realty's broker-owners were recognized at the company's Dec. 8 holiday party, where Ron Wendler was named Broker of the Year; Joyce Hartless, the Rising Star; and Nick Metzler, the Top Producer for 2007.
Wendler was honored as Broker of the Year for his contributions not just to Colorado Group Realty, but to the real estate industry in general and especially across the Yampa Valley.
Hartless was named 2007's Rising Star because of the dramatic growth her business demonstrated in the short time since she joined Colorado Group Realty earlier this year.
Metzler, who was named Top Producer for 2007, is one of the founding members of Colorado Group Realty and a past president of the Steamboat Springs Board of Realtors.
