12:23 a.m. Someone driving a small white car reportedly left before paying for gas in the first block of Anglers Drive. Officers later pulled over a small white car on Lincoln Avenue that was not involved in the reported gas skip.
12:31 a.m. Traffic cones reportedly were blocking the road near Lincoln Avenue and Anglers Drive.
1:43 a.m. A 60-year-old man was taken to the hospital from the 900 block of Lincoln Avenue because he was "bleeding profusely" from a cut on his forehead.
8:38 a.m. Someone was reported to be using a nonwildlife-proof trash container in the 2500 block of AprÃs Ski Way.
8:43 a.m. Someone reported a bear "circling" a business' Dumpster in the 1400 block of Pine Grove Road. An employee of the business was concerned about other employees' safety as they entered the building. The bear was gone when officers arrived.
11:16 a.m. A woman lost her wallet in the 600 block of Meadowbrook Circle.
12:11 p.m. Medication was reported stolen from a home in the 2900 block of West Acres Drive.
12:50 p.m. A three-vehicle, minor injury accident occurred near Lincoln Avenue and Pine Grove Road. Two people were taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. One driver was cited for following too closely, police said.
2:20 p.m. A piece of farm equipment caught fire on R.C.R. 6 in Yampa. Yampa firefighters extinguished the equipment.
2:24 p.m. Sunglasses were stolen from the 400 block of Tamarack Drive.
3:44 p.m. A wallet was found near Seventh and Yampa streets.
3:58 p.m. A tree was smoldering on Steamboat Boulevard. Firefighters extinguished the fire.
4:06 p.m. A 25-year-old woman was reported missing from the 400 block of Seventh Street. Police said the woman was last heard from Aug. 17 in the Steamboat area. The incident is under investigation.
4:10 p.m. A Jeep was leaking fuel in the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue. The Jeep was towed, and the spilled fuel was cleaned.
6:14 p.m. A man reportedly was throwing water balloons at passing cars near U.S. Highway 40 and Snowbowl Plaza. The man was gone when officers arrived.
6:28 p.m. A dog was left in a car in the 1400 block of Lincoln Avenue.
7:03 p.m. A 54-year-old woman was taken to the hospital from the Steamboat Springs Airport because she was suffering from chest pains.
7:42 p.m. A father lost his 8-year-old son in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue. The pair was reunited.
8:06 p.m. A gas skip worth $40.02 was reported in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue.
9:01 p.m. A 57-year-old Bailey man was arrested near Central Park Drive and Mount Werner Road on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with defective headlamps.
10:10 p.m. A group of people was "drinking, screaming and playing loud music" in the 1300 block of Dream Island Plaza. Police gave the group a warning to be quiet.
10:40 p.m. The same group of loud people was still being loud. Officers gave the group another warning to be quiet.
11:07 p.m. A 19-year-old Avon man was arrested near Fourth Street and Lincoln Avenue on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, speeding and weaving.

I always make sure my headlamps are working properly when I drive drunk down Mt Werner Road, especially at night............

Why burden the system with arrests for people who are not hurting anybody if they agree to be quiet?
