Teen programs offered Fridays during school year
For the 2007-08 school year, the city of Steamboat Springs' Teen Programs has developed new programming on the Fridays when school is not in session. Teen Programs is offering Teen School Days Off, all-day recreation programming for sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students.
The first program is a Teens on Tour event, scheduled for Aug. 31. Participants will go to Boondocks Fun Center for an all-day adventure. Boondocks Fun Center features go-carts, laser tag, bumper boats, mini golf, a rock climbing wall and a video arcade. The cost is $35 and includes transportation, admission into the park, lunch and dinner. Space is limited to 18 participants and is reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration packets are available at the Parks & Recreation office, 245 Howelsen Parkway. Completed registration forms must be submitted with the $35 registration fee by 5 p.m. Aug. 29.
For more information, call Brooke Lightner at 879-4300 or e-mail blightner@steamboatsprings.net. The mission of the city of Steamboat Springs' Teen Programs is to provide safe, affordable, substance-free recreation programming for teens.
