Routt County Search & Rescue were also involved in this rescue. It is my understanding that the "ropes team" was actually Search & Rescue and not the Fire Dept. However, fire was involved with the rescue. The boy suffered minor injuries and was released from the hospital the same day. Kudos all the way around to our FANTASTIC county EMS personnel.

I witnessed the rescue of a teenage boy on Saturday, from Fish Creek Falls. I was told he'd climbed up and fallen 40-50 ft. when he lost his footing. I witness the Fire Rescue team string all their ropes up and rescue the boy. I was told he was okay. I just wanted to give props to the Fire and Rescue team, since they weren't mentioned at all, even in the blotter. They did exactly what they've trained to do in that area, and it was definetly worth mentioning. Great job guys and gals!
