Need money

This is good news. As soon as these properties are out of the ownership of these indifferent owners, snubbing any maintenance and upgrading of these properties the better.

I hope the new guys have money.

Quiet times

I think it's pretty darn dead in town.

Just trying to find a place to eat the other night was terrible. Either they closed really early or just weren't open at all.

God bless those of us who stay around to support the other locals, because this time of year, that's all we got.

Not everyone can afford to skip town for three weeks to go to Mexico!.

A second chance

Not everyone is perfect and if this officer was not on duty and did not commit a vicious crime and has done his "time," then he should be able to work back in law enforcement.

Losing its charm

Now, the only character/small town charm you will find in Steamboat will be in advertisements, instead of real life. This attitude disgusts me, and most of the people I know who call Steamboat home. Perhaps I just haven't gotten to know the "new Steamboat" well enough yet. Hurray for the free market and capitalism, long live the dollar.

Newspaper got it wrong

I can't believe that the Pilot & Today even printed the article ("Sheriff hires former officer"). Do any of you even remember this story? Do any of you even know the family involved? Nice to see that the Pilot & Today still has the knack for writing fictitious articles. Get your facts straight before you throw someone's life out there to ruin. I am sure that all of the readers who have commented have lived absolutely perfect lives and have never done anything stupid.

Union busting

Colorado is an "at will" state where employees can be fired for no reason. We need to work on changing this. This case ("Firefighter sues for his job") looks like a fine example. Why do you think union busting is so common in this country? I hope Mr. Roberts and others understand this and work towards labor law reform. Support the Employee Free Choice Act, now in the US Senate.
