Position open for Routt County Fair Board

Steamboat Springs The Routt County Fair Board has a vacancy. The position is for District 2 (Hayden) and expires Dec. 31. While it is not required, the board needs someone to help out in the arena events part of the board. Meetings are the second Wednesday of every month. Contact Jill at the fair office for details. Dance Theatre accepting scholarship applications
The Steamboat Dance Theatre is now accepting applications for dance scholarships for spring or summer dance. Anyone, child or adult, with financial need is welcome to apply for tuition assistance to study dance. Scholarship application forms are available through your local dance teacher or you may download one from www.dancesteamboat.org or call Wendy Smith Mikelsons at 736-1005. Applications may be mailed to SDT, P.O. Box 774284, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477.
Spring danceworks
session runs through May
The spring 2007 session for children's danceworks began April 9 and runs through May 24. Classes in creative dance are offered for children ages 2 to 13. Special classes include a parent/toddler class, a Boys Only Workshop with male guest teachers and a Creative Modern Dance class for 9- to 13-year-old girls. Classes are at Northwest Ballet Studio and Perry-Mansfield's Steinberg Pavilion. Call Wendy at 736-1005.
Artisans invited to
Hahn's Peak event
The second annual Hahn's Peak Arts, Crafts and Antiques Fair is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 25. Anyone who would like space for the fair should call Marge at 879-7291. Spaces are $30 each, with proceeds benefiting the Hahn's Peak Historical Society.
Clay Artisans looking for fundraiser beneficiary
The Steamboat Clay Artisans are looking for a local nonprofit organization that would like to be the beneficiary of this year's Soup Bowl Supper. The annual fall fundraiser has raised more than $32,000 for local nonprofit groups during the past five years. Past recipients include LIFT-UP of Routt County, Yampa Valley Recycles, Northwest Animal Assistance League and Historic Routt County.
To be considered as the beneficiary for this year's event, submit a letter of interest by May 1 that states the name and purpose of your organization, how you would use the proceeds and the extent of volunteer assistance your organization would provide. Letters should be sent to SCA, P.O. Box 882111, Steamboat Springs, CO 80488. A decision will be announced in mid-May.
