Student injured after hitting a tree while skiing

Steamboat Springs A 16-year-old Steamboat Springs High School student was taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon after she hit a tree while skiing at the Steamboat Ski Area. Steamboat Police Capt. Joel Rae said the girl appeared to be intoxicated and sustained a head injury in the accident.
She was taken to the hospital with injuries not classified as life threatening. Police are following up with the incident.
Docents open trip to art museum to public
The Steamboat Springs Arts Council docents invite residents to join them on their field trip to the Denver Art Museum on May 9. There are four seats left on the taxi. Call Audrey at 736-8369.
Comunidad Integrada seeks talent show participants
Comunidad Integrada is looking for local talent to participate in a talent show during the third annual Craig Cinco de Mayo Festival. The event is from noon to 5 p.m. May 5. Talent show participants will perform from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m. Call Summer Laws at 846-5521.
Tickets for second annual Carpenter's Ball available
The second annual Carpenter's Ball is at 6:30 p.m. May 12 at the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel. Tickets are $60 a person or $900 for a corporate table. All proceeds benefit Routt County Habitat for Humanity. For more information or to RSVP, call 871-6101.
