Insurance issues focus of breakfast seminar

Insurance issues for small businesses will be the focus of this month's Success Steps Breakfast. The seminar is from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Wednesday in Bogue Hall, Room 300, at Colorado Mountain College. There is a $10 seminar fee, which includes a continental breakfast.

Locals who have had successful careers in business teach the seminars, which address a different topic the third Wednesday of each month. The seminars are put on by the Business Resource Director, SCORE, Colorado Mountain College Small Business Resource Center and Routt County Economic Development Cooperative.

Debbie Aragon will be hosting and providing clarity and solutions to concerns about insurance for small businesses. She will also be introducing retirement programs for small business leaders to consider. Property and casualty, umbrella, business and product liability, bonds, automotive and indemnity will be discussed. This month's Success Steps Breakfast will help make sense of this complicated business landscape.

The Steamboat Springs Chamber Economic Development Council is presenting a Workforce Forum Series to be held once a month from April until August, covering information relating to the Yampa Valley with construction updates, housing the workforce, workforce retention, workforce recruitment and workforce training.

The first forum is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Rex's American Grill and Bar. The forum will focus on a construction update. There will be a panel of local government officials, contractors, developers and school officials.

The cost is $15 per forum or $70 for all five; lunch is included. RSVP to Kyleigh DeMicco at the Chamber at 875-7000.

City Cafe sees management change

The city of Steamboat Springs welcomed a new management team to the City Cafe. Sharon Stone and Jennifer Koepher now run the cafe, located inside Centennial Hall, 124 10th Street. The cafe is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays.
